Linda McCown’s parents established one of the first legal firms in 1950, which was a  well-established and reputable firm offering legal advice and services in a variety of areas for 67 years.  Linda joined her parents’ firm in 1989 and worked with them for a number of years before they died.  She has served on the Board of Director for the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce.   She is supportive of many local charities and established the Friends of Manteo High School Scholarship with the Outer Banks Community Foundation.  She also assists in the selection of scholarship recipients for the Wallace H. McCown Scholarship Fund which was established by the Town of Kill Devil Hills after her father’s death in 1998, for his 43 years of service as Town Attorney. Linda’s main areas of practice include Residential and  Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Estate Planning & Administration, Traffic Infractions and Contracts.

Jeff Malarney operates out our Kitty Hawk office located at 4112 N Croatan Hwy, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949.  His office is on the 1st floor in the Town Insurance building on the corner of N Croatan Hwy and Cay Trail in Kitty Hawk.

Jeff has lived on the Outer Banks and practiced law for over 27 years. A 1991 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, he is a veteran of the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. While in the Navy, he served in various capacities, including the Force Judge Advocate for Commander Naval Forces Marianas, Prosecutor, Defense Counsel and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney.

Jeff began practicing law in the Outer Banks with one of the oldest local law firms concentrating in civil, and criminal litigation. Jeff has successfully litigated various and numerous civil cases as well as many very serious criminal offenses, including winning a full acquittal in a murder trial.  The large majority of Jeff's experience, however, is rooted in real estate development, sales, financing and insurance. He has spent over 15 years as the general counsel for one of the largest vacation rental companies in the nation. Similarly, he founded and operated a mortgage brokerage company, an insurance agency and created H2OBX Waterpark, a 50 million dollar resort located in Currituck, North Carolina.

Jeff currently serves as a Commissioner for the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and is the past President of the North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association and Chairman of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce. Jeff is a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker and Property Insurance Agent. From development to finance, sales, and regulatory matters, Jeff is highly experienced and accomplished.
